Cambrians trounce Sebs

Prince of Wales College trounced their arch rivals St Sebastians
College by six wickets when they tasked their tasted defeat in their
inter-school twenty eighth limited over cricket match worked off at
Tyronne Fernando Stadium, Moratuwa.
Cambrians were home for team as the match ended at 2.15 pm.
Sebs skipper Anushka Perera won the toss and decided to take the
first lease and were all out for a paltry 89 runs in 29.1 overs. Only
Anuk Fernando gave some resistance with the bat and collected 22 runs.
Senal Chetana was the most economical bowler with 2 for 13 while Shanuka
Dulaj had 2 for 26.
In their turn Cambrians notched up the required score for the loss of
four wickets in 18.3 overs with skipper Kusal Mendis making the top
score of 25 runs while Vice Captain Ashen Mendis was unbeaten on 19
runs. Pramesh Fernando was the most successful bowler for Sebs with 4
for 33 runs. This is the lowest score recorded by Sebs in this
28-year-old limited overs cricket history and their previous was 90 runs
in 2001 under Primal Salgado in 38 overs. Now the tally stands at
thirteen victories each and two abandoned.
