NEEI lectures on environment

The National Environmental Education Institute (NEEI) has been set up
by the Central Environmental Authority (CEA) to provide an opportunity
for the public, environmentalists and employees to follow proper
theoretical and practical studies on environment.
This institute provides a rare opportunity to conduct studies on a
wide range of environment related issues, including climate change,
meteor showers and their impact on our planet, red rain and other
unusual weather patterns etc.
Resource persons scheduled to conduct lectures at these courses
include Colombo University Physics Department Prof Chandana Jayaratne,
Colombo University Physical Science Department Dr W Sumathipala,
Meteorological Department Senior Meteorologist Malaka Wimalasuri and
National Education Institute Aesthetic Department Visharad Sugath
Samarasinghe.
The first batch comprising 50 participants have already been
selected. The CEA invites interested parties representing a variety of
fields, including, school children, teachers, environmentalists, school
leavers, journalists, government and non government organizations, Tri
Force and Police personnel to apply for these courses. Further
