LTTE rump out to destabilise Lanka

The LTTE rump is making every effort to destabilise Sri Lanka. Their
latest platform is the ongoing UN Human Rights Council sessions in
Geneva, Hindu-Buddhist Association in Zurich president T Logeswaran
said.
He said LTTE remnants have gathered in their numbers in Geneva and
were influencing member countries and other stakeholders through
misleading propaganda.
Logeswaran said this false propaganda contributed to the anti-Lanka
approach adopted by some western powers at the ongoing UNHRC sessions.
He said the only outcome of any action against Sri Lanka was the
destabilisation of the hard won unity and peace.
Logeswaran, in Sri Lanka on holiday, said this was not the time for a
witch hunt against the country but to support endeavours at
reconciliation and development.
He said that a major protest will be held in Geneva on Friday by Sri
Lankans living in Europe to protest the action of LTTE supporters and to
portray the truth to representatives of member countries.
Logeswaran said that through this action, his organisation will
deliver a clear message to the international community that what Sri
Lanka needs is support for peace and unity instead of more violence and
blood letting.
He said in the past, LTTE sympathisers threatened him and his
organisation with violence, but this will not a be a deterrent for
telling the truth. He said the Sri Lankan government implemented many
development projects in the Northern and Eastern Provinces. |
