Negete stresses the importance of Mobile Media

Assists 4 hotels in Frankfurt, Germany to Go Mobile Negete stresses on the importance of Mobile Media as it becomes the seventh and most sought after mass media, (next to the earlier six; Print, Recordings, Cinema, Radio, Television and Internet), as it is capable of reaching the greater masses around the world and with the growing use of mobile devices, organisations should see this as an opportunity and a channel of communication with customers.

Negete’s Managing Director
& CEO Brian Walter

Based on Cisco's Global Mobile Data Traffic Forecast Update, 'The average smartphone usage grew 81% in 2012 and although smartphones represented only 18% of total global handsets in use in 2012, it represented 92% of total global handset traffic. In 2012, the typical smartphone generated 50 times more mobile data traffic (342 MB per month) than the typical basic-feature cell phone (which generated only 6.8 MB per month of mobile data traffic).'

What makes mobile a unique media form, according to Brian WalterNegete's Managing Director & CEO, is the fact that "mobile is the only form of media that is capable of doing everything that the other six can and organisations should take advantage of the benefits that mobile devices provide."

"These statistics go to show that smartphones have taken over our current society and become a vital part of our daily lifestyle" he commented.

Negete, which stands for Next Generation Technologies, was founded to help organisation to get into the 'wave of the future' by creating a range of unique opportunities in every market. Negete is equipped to fill the technological voids and help ambitious organisations to leap over their competitors by embracing modern technologies to their best advantage.

With four mobile phones being purchased for every personal computer, everyone, from a teenager to an elder, always carry a personal mobile phone. This has revolutionised the way things are done, from checking emails to banking. The advancement in mobile devices and adoption of this new trend such as; online banking, m-commerce and social networking, makes way for new business models. The transformative power of mobile technology for organisations is unquestionable hence, organisations should look to capitalise on this opportunity and define a Mobile Strategy as part of their IT Strategy.

According to another Cisco study 'By 2017 there will be 10 billion mobile-connected devices globally and mobile device traffic will multiply to 50 times the size it is today.'

"But organisations still fail to see that success doesn't come from experimenting randomly or investing in one-off mobile projects but by moving towards a carefully mapped mobile strategy. And our sole mission at Negete is to help organisations succeed by embracing modern technologies." stated Mr Walter. Organisations should bear in mind that the mobile is the only truly personal media that is always on and always carried by the customer.

Therefore, the reach is much greater than any other mass media and makes dissemination of information easier.

A study related that '78% of organisations prefer mobile marketing as almost all customers carry their mobile phone and 61% find it easy to target specific audience via the mobile device thus making it a popular media for marketing,'.

Mobile Media Marketing provides organisations and customers with the flexibility that they need when it comes to receiving or sending marketing messages as customers find it easy to share content via the mobile phone.

Organisations can market in the forms of; Mobile Website, Mobile Applications or Direct Mobile Marketing such as SMS, MMS and mobile display.

"In order to succeed in this contemporary market, a business has to incorporate effective Mobile Media Marketing strategies in its overall marketing strategy," stated Brian Walter CEO of Negete.

Further he mentioned that "a normal website can no longer satisfy the users' needs and that it is a necessity for organisations to be available on the mobile phone via mobile websites in order to address the mobile revolution, with which we havesuccessfully helped 4 hotels in Germany."

The Ramada Frankfurt, Comfort Hotel, Clarion Collection and United Hostel in Germanyselected Negete to help them implement their mobile media strategy.

The growth in the usage of mobile phones to browse the Internethas motivated these hotels to take on the opportunity and enter this wave of technology.

The availability of the Internet browser on the mobile device has resulted in users to carry out their basic browsing on a smartphone expecting the desktop browser experience to be replicated onto their smartphone.

Vicky Kapoor, Hotel Manager of United Hostel (Frankfurt) stated that, "Guests are always on the lookout for the most convenient way to make reservations and plan holidays and with the new mobile website, we are already beginning to reap from the benefits."

Commenting on Negete's work, VjekoslavLjubas, Ramada Frankfurt'sHotel Managersaid"Our new mobile website is an excellent demonstration of Negete's leading edge creation.

Their focused and meticulous approach and continuous interaction has improved our online presence tremendously!"

The convenience of the device being, always on and always available, and the inclusion of touch and gestures have opened up several new possibilities that weren't feasible on desktop sites which has also played a huge role in the changing user expectations.

However, simply having the content and the ability of mobility is not enough on its own, organisations should focus on providing content that is directly useful to a mobile user and take into account the differences in device characteristics and the relevant user experience.

Being a global company with incorporations in Australia, Sri Lanka and the United Kingdom and also serving clients in the United States and Europe, Negete is geared to offer its clients, an edge over their competitors, by providing an unmatched experience in terms of processes, delivery and support, and its users, with the ultimate user experience.
