Kandy Motor Races on March 30
S M Jiffrey Abdeen- Kandy Sports Correspondent
The third annual Kandy Speed at Night motor races organized by the
Kandy Off Road Adventure Club (KORAC) possibly with the support of the
governing body for motor racing in Sri Lanka – the Sri Lanka Association
for Automobile Sports (SLAAS) will be conducted in the streets of Kandy
on Match 30th from 7 pm onwards. The official practices for grid
positions will be held on Friday March 29.
This was disclosed to the media by the media spokesman for KORAC and
former racing driver John Baskaran.
Last year this race was organized by the Sri Lanka Motor Cycle Club
and KORAC but this year the former had pulled out after having done a
good job last year. A race of this nature needs the support of a
recognized motor racing club and therefore the KORAC is seeking the
support of SLAAS to help them to stage this major racing event.
