Major honours for Vidyartha

Vidyartha College, Kandy, took the major honours in their inter-school cricket match against Moratu Vidyalaya which ended in a draw at the Pallekele International cricket Stadium yesterday.

Vidyartha College who are playing in Division two of the schools cricket tournament performed exceedingly well to enforce the follow on their more fancied opponents who playing in Division one of the tournament.

Top performer for the Vidyarthian was their medium Isuru Weerasinghe who had the excellent figures of 8 for 34 off 19.2 over. Vidyartha College who made 221 for 8 declared did well to skittle out their opponents for 120 leading by 101 runs.

Moratu Vidyalaya scored 125 for 3 in the second innings. This performance by Vidyartha College should boost their Morale for their next weeks big match.
