Daminda rescues Kingswood

Daminda Weerakoon rescues Kingswood College with a solid knock of 48
not out, 12 fours, 81 balls and helped them to gain first innings points
over Bandaranaike National School, Gampaha in their school under 19
cricket match concluded at police ground, Kandy yesterday.
In reply to Bandaranaike National Schools total of 197, the
Kingswoodian were in a poor way with the scoreboard reeding 153 for 8
before Daminda Weerakoon coming at No. 8 did the rescue act by putting
on 60 runs for the ninth wicket with Shameera Bandara (29).
Earlier Supun Bandara made 58 for the Kingswoodians with the aid of
11 fours facing 81 balls. Daminda Weerakoon also bowled well to capture
3 for 52.
For Bandaranaike National School Mihiran Imbulana batted well to
score 61 with 9 fours and 1 six off 104 deliveries.
The visitors who trailed in the first innings by 40 runs were 144 for
7 at Stumps thus escaped an outright defeat.
