High liquor, cigarette consumption in Kalawana

Liquor valued at Rs 10 million is sold in Kalawana town while Rs six
million is spent for cigarettes per month, Gnannodaya Foundation
chairman Ven Kalavane Dhammananda Thera said.
Delivering an anusasana at the inauguration of the Kalawana
state-of-the-art crematory, functioning with gas, built at Rs13 million,
he said the authorities must find a way to reduce liquor and cigarette
consumption in the area.
The thera appreciated the decision to construct a crematory in
Kalawana which is a long-felt need of residents.
The thera thanked MP Janaka Wakkumbura for supporting to construct
the crematory in Kalawana.
Sabaragamuwa Province Chief Minister Maheepala Herath and MP Janaka
Wakkumbura also spoke. |
