Sri Lanka and Korea sign air services agreement
Sri Lanka and Korea concluded a successful round of air services
talks in expanding bilateral air transport arrangements between the two
countries in Seoul, Korea, from February 19 to 20, 2013. During the
talks, the Sri Lankan delegation agreed to grant traffic rights to
Korean Air for the operation of flights to Maldives via Colombo, whereas
the Korean delegation granted traffic rights to Sri Lankan Airlines to
operate to Seoul from Colombo via Hong Kong. The Sri Lankan delegation
in Korea, Dr Ravindra Ruberu, Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation,
Tissa Wijeratne, Ambassador to Sri Lanka in Korea, H M C Nimalsiri,
Director General and CEO of Civil Aviation Authority, Dhammika Attygalle,
Advisor to the Minister of Civil Aviation, Mahen Gopallawa, Senior State
Counsel from Attorney General's Department, Ms Tilani Silva, Legal
Officer from the Ministry of External Affairs, G T Jayaseelan, Chief
Marketing Officer Sri Senanayake, Manager International Relations of Sri
Lankan Airlines and Charitha Yattogoda, Minister Counsellor (Commercial)
of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Korea, were the other members of the
