Diyagama West Tea Estate breaks own record

Diyagama West tea estate managed by Agrapatana Plantations Ltd., has established an All Time Record Price of Rs 700 per kilo for a line of liquoring OP grade tea, at the weekly Tea Auctions held on February 27, 2013. This price had surpassed its own record of Rs 620 established last week. This line of tea had been purchased by St. Claires Tea.

The sale was conducted by John Keells PLC. tea brokers.

Meanwhile pioneers in the producing of light liquoring bright semi leafy teas, Kirkoswald Estate, established a new all time record price of Rs 1,450 per kilo for a line of FBOP grade at the weekly Tea Auctions held on February 27, 2013.

This staggering record price has surpassed the previous record of Rs 760, set by the same estate two weeks before.

Kirkoswald Estate managed by Madulsima Plantations PLC, coms under the purview of the Stassen Group.

This line of tea had been purchased by M/s St. Claires Tea on a special inquiry for Kirkoswald tea and the sale was conducted by tea brokers, John Keells PLC.
