'SL's modus operandi boosts living standards'

USAID Asia Bureau Senior Deputy Assistant Administrator Denise Rollins said the mechanism of communities, Local Authorities and Civil Society Organizations across the island, improved the living standards of Sri Lankans mainly in the North and East.

Rollins was addressing the media at the American Centre, Colombo on Wednesday.

She said the US government is working with Sri Lanka to facilitate sustainable development. The USAID will spend more than US $ 13 million for development activities this year.

The US $ 10.5 million Development Grants Partnership Programme helps communities in conflict affected areas, Rollins said.
