Seed paddy, fertilizer for flood-hit farmers

Flood-affected paddy farmers will be issued seed paddy free and fertilizer, Agriculture Ministry sources said.

Agriculture Assistant Directors commenced collecting statistical data of damages through Agrarian Services Centers in each divisions.

Those who have insured their paddy crop, will recent full payment of indemnity.

Nearly 100,000 acres of paddy were damaged due to recent floods in the Eastern Province. The Eastern province produces 32 percent of the paddy requirement of the island.
