A superb 104 runs by Rukshan Fernando which included fifteen fours facing 125 balls and occupying the crease for 179 minutes helped Joseph Vaz College, Wennappuwa to gain a first innings win over Lumbini Vidyalaya, Colombo in their inter-school under 19 cricket match played at Wennappuwa.

Lumbini Vidyalaya electing to bat were all out for 132 runs and Dammika Darana scored 36 runs. At the end of day one Vazians were 224 for 7 with Chamara Nishantha taking 4 for 68 for Lumbini.
