Cambrians fight back to force a draw

Trinity College held Prince of Wales College, Moratuwa to a draw in their schools under 19 cricket tournament match concluded at the Asgiriya Stadium, Kandy yesterday. Trintians were set a victory target of 167 in 44 overs and they made 130 for 8. It was the early loss of wickets when they were 65 for 5 which compelled them to put up the shutters.

For Prince of Wales College Shanuka Dulaj scored a brilliant 100 in 130 balls with the aid of 16 fours which helped Cambrians to score 211 for 8 declared. He was involved in a fourth wicket stand of 104 with Ashen Mendis who made 51 with 6 fours and 2 sixes off 87 balls.

Prince of Wales College 106 and 211 for 8 decl in 57 overs (Shanuka Dulaj 100, Kusal Nimesh 14, Ashen Mendis 51, Haritha Lanka 18, Lakshan Jayasinghe 4 for 61, Amrith Srimahan 2 for 5).

Trinity College 151 and 130 for 8 in 44 overs (Lakshitha Dassanayake 18, Ron Chandragupta 19, Dinuk Wikramanayake 19, Bhaghya Pallihawadana 21, Sachintha Pushpakumara 4 for 27, Thilan Nimesh 3 for 46).
