Renuka ShawWallace acquires Mr Pop

Renuka ShawWallace the leading fast moving consumer good (FMCG)
producer and distributor acquired Mr Pop related brands from Hemas Group
of companies at a cost of Rs 36 million.
“As one of the top FMCG companies in the country we are planning to
capture a considerable size of the market with the purchase of the
leading brand,” its Assistant Business Development Manager Niroshan
Nadarajha told Daily News Business .
He said that they have already purchased the brand and existing
products from Hemas and will distribute it through the Renuka Shaw
Wallace distribution network, under Mr Pop brand.
“Several snack products including Chillie Balls, Classic Chatter,
Pizza and several snack products come under Mr. Pop brand, and the
company also intents to introduce some more products under the same
brand,” he said
The company’s future plans include the extension of existing brands
to new food and beverage products by manufacturing them to evolving
consumer needs. These include the processing of value-added fish and
innovative dairy products in a bid to increase the general trade outlet
coverage up to 100,000 by 2015.
