Major honours for Kegalle Marians

St. Mary's College, Kegalle scored a first innings win over Vidyartha
College, Kandy in their inter-school cricket match concluded at Police
grounds, Kandy yesterday. The Kegalle Marians had a chance of pulling
off an outright win if not for the fact only 28 overs wee bowled on the
first day.
Highlight of the match was the left arm spin bowling of Dhanushka
Sandasruwan who captured 5 for 28 for St. Mary's College. He has new
captured 90 wickets for the season and is line for the Milestone of
capturing 100 wickets for the season. He has also scored over 500 runs
during the current season.
Vidyartha College scored 158 and the Marians replied with 214 for 8
declared, gaining a lead of 56 runs. At close Vidyaratha were 72 for 4.
Vidyartha College 158 all out in 38.5 overs (Ravindra Dissnayake 48,
Malaka Wickremaratne 40, Kasun Nawaratne 24, Danushka Sandarwan 5 for
28, Chamika Karunaratne 3 for 47) and 72 for 4 in 29.1 over (Kavindu
Dissanayake 22, Muditha Eliptiya 18, Isuru Weerasinghe 11 not out,
Chamika Karunaratne 2 for 26).
