A religious ceremony was held to mark
the 127th birth anniversary of D R Wijewardene, the founder
of the Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited yesterday. An
all night pirith chanting and a Dhamma Deshanawa were held
at the company premises followed by an alms giving to the
Maha Sangha today morning. Here, ANCL Chairman and Managing

The Wimalpura Jana Sevana village at
Bastiyawatta, Rikillagaskada,
Hanguranketha, built for low income-earners in
the Nuwara Eliya District was opened recently. The Housing
Development Authority spent over Rs 20 million for the
project consisting 100 houses. Here, Constructions,
