Applications called for State Music Awards Festival

Applications are called for the State Music Awards Festival - 2013, a Cultural Affairs Department spokesman said yesterday.

The State Music Awards Festival 2013 is jointly organised by the State Music Panel of Sri Lanka Arts Council and the Department of Cultural Affairs on the instructions of Culture and the Arts Ministry, he said.

Sinhala and Tamil musical creations of 2011 and 2012 can be submitted.

Best Singer of the Year (solo male and female), Best Music Composition, Best Lyrics , Visual Song , Compact Disc of the Year, Best Child Singer ( solo boys and girls), Children's Music Composition, Children's Lyrics, Compact Disc of Children's Song, Best Children's Visual Song , Best Folk Song (solo male and female), New Creations of Folk Songs, Radio Musical programme and Group song are some of the awards.

The creations should be originals. One competitor can present only one creation for each category.

Applications along with one's work should be sent to 'Director , Department of Cultural Affairs , 8th Floor, Sethsiripaya, Battaramulla by registered post or handed over to the Secretary, State Music Panel before March 15.
