Quantum of loans enhanced

Cooperative rural banks in the Western Province have enhanced the quantum of loans provided to low income groups from Rs 50,000 to Rs 250,000 on condition of surety provided by two government servants, Provincial Commissioner of Cooperative Development Upul Shantha Alwis said.

The quantum of loans was enhanced to uplift the livelihood of rural communities by them enabling to start self- employment projects.
