Sanath Jayasuriya appointed SL Tourism Ambassador
The Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) appointed cricketing
legend and Member of Parliament Sanath Jayasuriya the Tourism Ambassador
of Sri Lanka yesterday during the "Get Sri Lankaned" joint promotional
campaign in Bangalore, India.
Sanath Jayasuriya was presented a plaque by Economic Development
Deputy Minister Muthu Sivalingam at the ‘Sri Lankan Night’ in
Bangalore. |
Sanath Jayasuriya was presented a plaque by Economic Development
Deputy Minister Muthu Sivalingam during the event named 'Sri Lankan
Night', the first promotional programme under 'Get Sri Lankaned' at
Vivanta by Taj Hotel Bangalore.
This three day promotional campaign, which is a very good opportunity
to showcase Sri Lanka as a tourist and trade destination, has been
initiated under the advice of President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
The organization of this campaign and the future campaigns of this
nature will be conducted by Economic Development Minister Basil
Rajapaksa. As per this appointment made by Sri Lanka Tourism under the
advice of Minister Basil Rajapaksa, Jayasuriya will function as a
Tourist Ambassador in future, with the view to promote Sri Lanka as a
renowned destination internationally. |
