A Magnificent 112 runs by Lisula Lakshan of Gurukula Vidyalaya,
Kelaniya which included fourteen hits to the rope and one over and
occupying the crease for 159 minutes and facing 148 balls could not
prevent Prince of Wales College beating them by 20 runs on first innings
in their inter-school under 19 cricket match played at Tyronee Fernando
Stadium, Moratuwa. Visitors resuming at 165 for 4 or day two in reply to
Cambrians score of 258 for 9 declared wee all out for 238 runs and Nipul
Maduka too contributed 38 runs. Jayanga Peiris was the most successful
bowler for the hoemsters with 5 for 48 and ably supported by Sachith
Pushpakumara 3 for 35 and Devaka Dabare 2 for 46.
In their second essay Cambrians declared at 184 for 6 with Kusal
Mendis and Hasitha Lanka scoring 44 and 41 respectively. Hashan Dumindu
took 4 for 45. Set to make 205 for an outright victory Gurukula were 110
for 7 at the close with Nipun Maduka 37.
