President to open new theatre complex at Kandy Hospital

President Mahinda Rajapaksa will open the new theatre complex built
at the Kandy Teaching Hospital at a cost of Rs 288 million today, a
Health Ministry spokesman said.
The spokesman said this new four storied theatre complex will consist
of eight new operation theatres. This is the second National Hospital to
be opened in Sri Lanka.
President Rajapaksa will open the theatre complex on the invitation
of Health Minister Maithripala Sirisena. The entire cost of the project
is borne by the Sri Lankan government. This is the third hospital
developed under the Health Ministry's five year health development
programme. All modern facilities are available in this theatre complex
which include endoscopy units, central supply unit, etc, he said. Among
those participating are Central Province Governor Tikiri Kobbekaduwa,
Central Province Chief Minister Sarath Ekanayake and Health Deputy
Minister Lalith Dissanayake. |
