Another International Photographic win for: Lalith Ekanayake
Renown and award winning wildlife and nature photographer Surgeon
Rear Admiral Lalith Ekanayake (USP, MBBS, MD, FCCP, DDHM (Aus)) has been
adjudged as the Runner up of the Wexas International wildlife
Photography Competition 2012 in United Kingdom. Lalith is the first Sri
Lankan to achieve this feat.
After a lot of hotly contested debate, judges have selected a winner
and runner up for the WEXAS wildlife photography competition. Selecting
Lalith's photo out of 15000, the judges commented that, 'the
photographer has thought about the image before taking it and composed
it well. It's not a lucky shot.' They felt the result was 'dramatic',
with the birds flying in the background offering a strong contrast to
the chick in the foreground. Further details can be obtained
www.photos.wexas.com. These photographs will also appear in Issue 2
(spring) 2013 of Traveller Magazine in UK.
In addition Lalith has won the prestigious UPI Gold Medal and the
PSSL Bronze Medal at the 57th Photographic Society of Sri Lanka (PSSL)
