Dead SLTB conductor’s wife given employment, donation
Transport Minister Kumara Welgama, offered Rs 50,000 to the wife a
Sri Lankan Transport Board employee, who died while on duty. Lokugamage
Ariyarathne, a conductor attached to the Akuressa Depot, died in an
accident at the Yatiyana depot premises recently.

The minister advised the officials to recruit Ariyarathne’s wife to
the Transport Board.
On the advice of the minister, she would be offered suitable
employment at the Yatiyana depot, the closest depot from her house.
Besides, Minister Welgama offered Rs 50,000 for her husband’s funeral
expenses.
Ariyarathne was the father of one, while no one was employed in his
family.
The minister while appreciating the honest and dedicated service of
the victim for 13 years, said that such an employee was always
appreciated and evaluated by the Transport Board. |
