Ninety four Myanmar nationals die of hunger:
Sri Lanka Navy rescues 32 :
Thirty two Myanmar nationals, the only survivors
of a group of 125 heading for Indonesia from the Bangladeshi border
aboard a make - shift vessel, were rescued by the Navy when the
vessel was about to sink in the deep seas 250 nautical miles east of
Sangamankanda on Saturday.

Valentine’s Day death :
Five suspects to be produced before ID parade
Five men taken into custody by Kollupitiya
Police in connection with the death of a man aged 24 were remanded
until February 28 by the Fort Magistrate pending an identification
parade. Jeyakumar Surendran, a three wheeler driver from Cinnamon
Gardens died following a brawl at a night club in Thunmulla
Junction, Bambalapitiya on Valentine’s Day.

Suranimala rescues vessel drifting in Northern sea
The Sri Lanka Naval Ship Suranimala attached to
the Northern Naval Command rescued a fishing vessel drifting in the
sea, 34 nautical miles east of Point Pedro on February 14. The
vessel, which had developed an engine failure at mid-sea, was towed
to safety along with its five member crew.
