Peterites take U-20 sevens rugby title
Kannangara Vidyalaya bag Plate Trophy:
St Peter’s College, Colombo after being led 0-10
at the breather came back storming to beat Isipatana College,
Colombo by 12 points (one goal, one try) to 10 (two tries) in the
final to clinch the Cup Championship of the schools Under 20 Rugby
Sevens final played at the Royal Sports Complex yesterday.

National Junior Squash Team off to Korea for Asian Championship
Sri Lanka National Junior Squash Team will take
wings to Seoul, Korea today to participate in the 16th Asian Junior
Team championship which is to be worked off from February 20 to 24.
Young prodigy Ravindu Laksiri of DS Senanayaka college and national
women’s champion Mihiliya Methsarani of Sirimavo Bandaranayake
college have emerged top performers in trials, retaining their
superiority as Junior National Champions while others representing
the squad are Shamil Wakeel (DSS), Viduranga Udantha(Taurstan) and
Rashendra Rajarathne (Royal College) in the boys category with
Naduni Gunawardene, Gayara Jayasooriya and Sanduni Gunawardene, all
being from Visaka Vidyalaya in the girls category.

Australia win women’s World Cup
On the day it mattered, every aspect of
Australia’s game came good to earn them their sixth Women’s World
Cup. The batting, wobbly for most of the tournament, started with a
bang and ended with a bang, despite another wobble in between. The
bowling and fielding, top class through the tournament, choked West
Indies in the chase.

DSS - a blend of youth and experience
D.S.Senanayake College with a blend of youth and
experience under their belt, is hoping that they could come up with
a good performance this season. The Senanayakians had an outright
win over Lumbini Maha Vidyalaya .They also got the better of
St.Joseph’s, Royal, Trinity, St.Sebastians and Nalanda on first
innings.
