Smoke disturbed wasps sting man to death

A man setting fire to garbage in the backyard of his home was attacked by wasps dwelling in the trunk of a tree.

He died after being admitted to hospital. The wasps had got disturbed by the smoke. A neighbour who came to help the 65-year-old man when he shouted for help, was also attacked.

Three others who came later were also attacked. They are receiving treatment at Tellipallai Hospital.

The deceased was identified as Valli Thirunavukkar of Mavidapuram.
