Crocs pose threat to bathers

The increase in crocodiles in Walawe ganga has posed a danger to those bathing in Thewalawa ganga in the Ambalantota area.

Low income groups who cannot afford to obtain domestic connections from the National Water Supply and Drainage Board bathe in Walawe ganga.

The Wildlife Department made arrangements to catch crocodiles that haunt Walawe ganga and relocate them in reservoirs but later said it has not trained people to catch crocodiles.
