Future Automobiles to set up Rs 400 mn 3S facility

A Rs 400 million state-of-the-art 3S facility would be set up in
Battaramulla by the 4th quarter of this year, said Suraj Fernando,
Executive Director, Future Automobiles and Softlogic Holdings PLC.

“We have just concluded plans for a comprehensive 3S facility ,
sales, service and spare parts within one location, at a fast
developing, central location in Battaramulla. We will be constructing a
custom built showroom, vast parts sales centre and after sales facility
at a cost of about Rs 400 million, (factoring the land value as well).
We expect to have this facility fully operational by the 4th quarter
of this year,” he told Daily News Business at the unveiling ceremony of
the all new Ford Ranger, and the Ford Figo in Colonbo recently.
He said they have also invested in a interim workshop dedicated to
Ford at Rajagiriya with specialized tools and diagnostic equipment, and
a comprehensive range of spare part, manned by technically trained and
dedicated staff.
He said they have achieved success from the Product line-up facing
heavy competition from the established brands.
Fernando said they launched Ford in June 2001 and in the very first
year, sold and delivered an impressive 258 vehicles. “We have in the
pipeline, new models such as the Ford Kuga, the all new Ford Mandeo, and
the revolutionary Eco Sport range of engines which develop substantial
power from smaller engines.
“We also have aggressive plans on commercial vehicles introducing the
reliable and dependable Ford Transit in many variants. We have already
delivered many custom built ambulances for a Foreign Medical Response
and Evacuation Facility as well as for the red Cross.”
Fernando added that he was confident of achieving their vision to be
among the Top 3 and the Big 3 with a Facility second to none, a Brand
built at the Apex and a Service ‘Par Excellence. |
