Holy Cross athletic meet
The Annual Inter House Athletics Meet of Holy Cross College, Kalutara
will be held today at College grounds, commencing at 1.00 p.m.
Attorney-at.Law, Lasantha Mudalige, an outstanding sportsman produced
by the school and Mrs.Mudalige will be the Chief Guests while Bernard
Wasantha, a Public Schools athlete and Secretary to the Ministry of
Sports in the Western Provincial Council will be the guest of honour.
Rector Rev. Fr. (Dr.) Camillus Fernando and Vice Rector and the
Prefect of Games Fr.Manoranjan De Silva are sparing no pains to make
this event a success.
Wattala St Joseph's sports meet
The inter-house Athletic Meet of St Joseph's College, Wattala will be
held today at the College Grounds on Paranakanda Road, Enderamulla
Wattala, Commencing at 1.00 pm.
The chief guest will be Deputy Minister of Construction, Engineering
Services, Housing and Common Amenities Lasantha Alagiyawanna.
Young Men's SC football champions

Young Men's Sports Club Dharga Town emerged champions after beating
ICBT in the final of the All-island 7-A-side knock out soccer
tournament, played at Cooray Park, Colombo. The game ended in a one-all
draw.
Twenty two teams took part in the tournament which was organized by
the students of Business Management Batch 08 of ICBT Campus Nugegoda to
raise funds for their upcoming charity project.
Rugby postponed

The Central Province Schools under 20 rugby tournament organised by
the Central Province Rugby Football Union which was fixed for tomorrow
at Nittawela has been indefinitely postponed.
The Secretary of the CPRFU Anil Jayasinghe said that some of the
leading schools like Trinity College, St. Anthony's College and St.
Sylvester's College had indicated their inability to participate in this
tournament.
There is no use in conducting a tournament without the participation
of all schools.
