Speed C'ship first round on February 17

The Speed Championship 2013 will commence with the first round which will take place on the February 17 at the Pannala Race Track. The qualifying sessions will be conducted on the day before. The races are scheduled to commence by 9.00am.

There will be a number of car events and motor cycle events worked off on the raceday. The Formula Mclarens 1300cc event will see 10 new young drivers who were selected after a comprehensive training programme conducted by Asian Motor Racing Club and the Speed Drome Karting Center. These 10 drivers will drive the full season of the championship consisting of 3 rounds.

Entries for the Speed Championship 2013 will close on February 11 at the Speed Drome Battaramulla. The organizers accept entries from all the SLAS (Sri Lanka Automobile Sports) approved classes and will schedule the events accordingly.

The Asian Motor Racing Club organizes this Round of the Speed Championship together with Ceylon Motor Sports Club, The Carlton Motor Sports Club and the Sri Lanka Army Motor Sports Committee.
