Two fine half centuries by Pasindu Isira (99) and Dhanuka
Madushan(62) helped Ananda College Colombo to pile up 263 for 5 in their
inter schools under 19 cricket match against Prince of Wales
College,Moratuwa which began at Ananda Mawatha yesterday.
Deciding to bat first Ananda scored 263 for 5 declared in 72.1 overs.
Pasindu Isira and Dhanuka Madushan were tha main contributors for
Anandians.Skipper Thushara Samarakoon scored 32 not out while Kushil
Perera hit 31.Shanuka Dulaj bagged two wickets for 72.
Prince of Wales made a bold reply by scoring 98 for 1 at
close.Skipper Kusal Mendis (60) and Ashen Mendis (17) made useful
contributions while remaining unbeaten.

Peterites have the edge
A fine batting performance by Jason Buultjens and Kavinda de Tissera
enabled St.Peter’s College Colombo to hold the whip-hand at the end of
the first day’s play in their inter schools under 19 match against
S.Thomas’ College Mount Lavinia which began at Bambalapitiya yesterday.
Batting first St.Peter’s were all out for 242 in 56.3 overs. Jason
Bulltjens contributed with a half century(66) inclusive of four
boundaries while Kavinda de Tissera(50) also knocked a half century
studded with eight hits to the ropes.Earlier Buultjens was involved in a
fine second wicket stand of 76 runs with Janith Liyanage(31). Madushan
Ravichandrakumar was the most impressive of the Thomian bowlers with 5
for 49 while Akthab Abdul Cader took 2 for 30.
The Thomians were 104 for 4 at close with Thilaksha Sumanasiri
unbeaten on 48 runs while Javed Bongso scored 31.Chemila Obeyesekere
took 2 for 26.
