Re-evaluation of applications for the 2012 Advanced Level examination
will be accepted until February 22 by the Examinations Department,
Examinations Commissioner General NMJ Pushpakumara said.
Re-scrutiny of applications of school candidates should be sent to
the
Examinations Department through the respective school principals
while private candidates should send in their applications directly to
the Evaluation Branch of the Examinations Department.
Examinations Department sources state the purpose of the re-scrutiny
is to evaluate answers or parts of answers, which have not been
evaluated properly and to correct any errors in computation. Therefore,
applicants are notified that an upward or downward revision of marks of
grade is possible due to the re-scrutiny. The Examinations Department
will commence the re-evaluation process after February 22 and the
re-evaluated results will probably be issued in March.
“The evaluation process will take a few weeks. However, the results
will probably be issued before the end of March,’ an Education Ministry
official said. The re-scrutiny of applications of model answer scripts
of private candidates will be published on February 5 in the Daily News
and Dinamina newspapers. |
