Negative batting by Kingswood College saw them lose the initiative on the first day of their inter school cricket match against Wesley College, Colombo which began at Police ground, Kandy yesterday. The match will be continued today at 9.45 a.m.

Chasing Wesley's first innings total of 132 the Kingswoodian in reply batted for 32 overs in making 45 for 3 by close.

Wesley taking first strike were dismissed for a paltry 132 in 46.3 overs against the bowling of Daminda Weerakoon who took 4 for 38. Ashail Kariyawasam top scored with 37 runs. But the rest of the batting failed to make any impression.
