President congratulates A-L stars
President Mahinda Rajapaksa congratulated the students who secured
first, second and third places in the Arts, Science, Biology, Commerce
and IT streams in the GCE Advanced Level Examination 2012 and commended
their excellent performances at Temple Trees yesterday.
The President expressing his satisfaction said students in the
villages now been able to secure prominent places parallel to their
counterparts in Colombo. He said this is what the government would
expect from students. President Rajapaksa requested from all students to
fulfill their utmost responsibility to the motherland by being true
patriots.
National Savings Bank (NSB) offered scholarships for a period of four
years and the President handed over these scholarships and laptop
computers for the students.
The President directed the Higher Education Ministry officials to
expedite the academic work of the students who were qualified to enter
universities.
