Lanka posts Rs 46,653 mn income from coconut exports

Sri Lanka's total income from the export of coconuts during the year 2012, has posted a figure of around Rs. 46,653 million, according to a Sri Lanka Coconut Development Authority source.

The total income from coconut exports from September to December 2012 alone, had recorded a figure of Rs 14,627 million and income from exports of coconuts for September, October, November and December were Rs 4,205 M, 3,396 M , 3396 M and 3,630 M respectively.

Accordingly, the income incurred from the export of coconuts for the month of December, had marginally gone up, compared to the total coconut exports income recorded in November 2012.

However, Sri Lanka's coconut products had been affected by the changing climatic conditions and the use of coconut land for other activities.
