Another Indian selling sarees held

Kalavanchikudi Police Special Task Force arrested an Indian national selling sarees and garments illegally while on tourist visa.

The STF arrested Pamdium Rukmani (42) of Royalpatti, Vidunagar, Tamil Nadu with sarees worth Rs 40,000. She had 20 sarees in her possession at the time of arrest in Kalavanchikudi North.

The suspect and the productions were handed over to the Kalavanchikudi Police for further investigation.

However, the Kalavanchikudi Police arrested a number of Indian nationals selling textiles illegally in Kalavanchikudi area this year.

On one occasion, an Indian national was arrested with 33 shalwars worth around Rs 35,000 from his possession.

He was a resident of Tamil Nadu and was arrested at Kaludavali.
