Arms cache in Batticaloa

An arms cache was detected in Thoppigala, Batticaloa District on Thursday.

Among the arms cache were RPG - 20, 60 round motors - four, RPG bomb - four and 60 round motor chargers - six wrapped in bags of manure.

Chief Inspector of Police, Valaichchenai H Ratnayake made the detection following information received by ASP Lal Seneviratne.

The Police said the arms may have been hidden by the L T T E.

Investigations are continuing.
