The Kilinochchi - Kanagambikaikulam tank, renovated at Rs 26 million,
was handed over to the public on Sunday.
Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa was the Chief Guest.
Traditional Industries and Small Enterprise Development Minister Douglas
Devananda, Parliamentarian M Chandrakumar and Northern Province Governor
G A Chandrasiri also participated.
“Many farmers in the area will benefit with the renovation of the
tank,” sources said.
Reawakening Programme project director L Liyanage, Provincial
Director of Irrigation K S Sivapatham and officials of the Irrigation
Department were also present.
