Anura Shantha new Legal Draftsman
G. S. Anura Shantha de Silva, Attorney-at-Law has
been appointed as new Legal Draftsman of the government.
He hold postgraduate qualifications in International legislative
drafting from University of West Indies, Barbados.
De Silva he further disciplined himself in international legislative
drafting at the Royal Institute of Public Administration-United Kingdom,
Ministry of Justice-Singapore, Attorney General's Department - Canberra,
Australia, Lok Sabha Secretariat, New-Delhi, Tulane Law School - USA,
Institute of International Humanitarian Law -Sen Remo-Italy and at the
National Law School of India University-Bangalore, India.
De Silva has been a visiting study fellow of University of Oxford, UK
for the academic year 1988-1989 and in 1992 he underwent an internship
on International Refugee Law with UNHCR headquarters, Geneva.
He has submitted papers on policies relating to Legislative Drafting
and on International Refugee Law at various international forums. De
Silva had his early education at Ananda College, Colombo. |
