Women's role in Mahinda Chinthana to be discussed:

The Women's role in Divi Neguma based on Mahinda Chinthana relating
to the livelihood empowerment, child care and social activities will be
taken up at the Asian Population and Development Association (APDA)
conference to be held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, Women's Affairs and Child
Development Minister Tissa Karalliyadda said.
Minister Tissa Karalliyadda has been invited to participate at the
second conference of the APDA being held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia from
January 22 to 25.
APDA is the secretariat of the Japan Parliamentarians Federation for
Population (JPFP) and the Tokyo office of the Asian Forum of
Parliamentarians on Population and Development and also has been working
to enhance the capacity of Parliamentarians in their efforts to address
population issues.
The support of the United Nation's Population Fund (UNFPA) and Japan
Trust Fund (JTF) is being extended to the APDA in their efforts.
Japanese member of Parliament and the Chairperson of the APDA Yasuo
Fukuda has informed the Women's Affairs and Child Development Ministry
that building upon the success of APDA's 2009-2011 projects titled
"Parliamentarians Capacity Building project on Accountability and Aid
Implementation for Population and Development Issues," this year APDA
with host Cambodian Association of Parliamentarians on Population and
Development will hold "Asian and African Parliamentarians' Capacity
Development on the Integration of Population issues in to National
Development frameworks" in Phnom Penh.
