CSD holds Thai Pongal festival

The Thai Pongal festival organized by the Civil Security Department (CSD) Force Headquarters in Kilinochchi/Mullaitivu districts was held under the patronage of Tharunyata Hetak Organization Chairman and Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa in Vishvamadu, Kilinochchi on January 14.

The event also featured cultural events and musical programmes jointly presented by CSD members and rehabilitated ex-LTTE carders who were reintegrated into society in parallel to the Thai Pongal celebrations.

Meanwhile, netball and volleyball competitions were also organized simultaneous to the function.

CSD Director General Rear Admiral Ananda Peiris, Kilinochchi and Mullaitivu districts CSD Force Headquarters Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel W. Ratnapriyabandu, Security Forces Commander of Kilinochchi /Mullaitivu, Mullaitivu District Secretary, Army officers and a large crowd of villagers participated in the event.
