The Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM), inaugurated its MBA
programme 2013/14 in December 2012. The student-managers who qualified
to follow the Institute's premier MBA programme successfully completed a
written test and an interview.
The selected candidates are from the private sector and junior and
senior level managers.
The Guest of Honour at the inauguration of the MBA programme was
Lalith Weeratunga, Secretary to the President. Prof. Uditha Liyanage,
Director, PIM, Dr. Wickrema Weerasooria, Dr. Travis Perera and Dr.
Ajantha Dharmasiri of the Institute's faculty addressed the gathering.
PIM pioneered the MBA programme in Sri Lanka over 25 years ago and
continues to offer the leading MBA programme in Sri Lanka. PIM offers
its new MBA programme which is aimed at developing five key competencies
in a challenging, yet enjoyable setting, that enables its participants
to strike the vital work-life-learn balance.
PIM's MBA programme has been re-engineered, based on the Institute's
experience of conducting the programme for over twenty-five years and
the emerging needs of today's competitive local and global markets.
The programme spans a period of two years and moves logically and
sequentially from courses on Management Foundations to Integrative
Studies, followed by Elective Courses and Research Paper/Project. The
programme is structured on robust theoretical foundations and immediate
practical applications. Action-learning that is facilitated by
assignments and project work, helps students to relate the cutting-edge
knowledge they gather to their world-of-work.
The new MBA programme is designed to help the busy working manager.
It is the Institute's experience that those who enjoy their study, do
best in the programme, and it is the Institute's endeavour to provide a
rich learning experience that would transform student-managers into
outstanding leaders and achievers. |
