Avissawella remand prison temporarily closed

The Avissawella Remand Prison was temporary closed from yesterday. Reports said the repair work is being carried out in the prison from where 10 inmates escaped on Friday.

The remand prison housed prisoners brought from Kuruwita prison and police stations of Avissawella Police Division.

Only three of the escapees have been re-arrested upto date.
