Japan aids agri projects

The grassroots Humanitarian Assistance Projects of the Japanese Embassy implemented by Eastern Rehabilitation and Relief Organization (ERRO) of Akkatraipattu in the Sammanthurai Divisional Secretariat division at Rs.9.6 million were oped by the Second Secretary of Economic Corporation Section of the Japanese Embassy Doi Toyoteru.

The Japanese government provided a grant of Rs. 276.2 million for three projects to improve the livelihoods of the communities in Maharagama, Ampara and Matara under the grant assistance for grassroots Human Security Project (GGP).

Projects for livelihood development assistance in conflict affected areas in the Ampara District were implemented by the ERRO at Rs.9.6 million.
