Road in state of disrepair

The road which connects Pallepola and Yatawatte Divisional Secretariat areas via Rusigama, stretching for eight kilometres was constructed by the Provincial Highways Ministry with an expenditure of Rs. 80 m. But now it is in a state of disrepair due to the sub-standard quality. In this connection, the people of the area allege that the carpetting of the road had been done sluggishly.

At present pot-holes have emerged along the way. They further emphasize that under the existing situation, vehicle drivers are reluctant to travel on this road.

Therefore over 20 villages in and around the area are facing much inconvenience without proper transport facilities.
