Dunlop signs five-year agreement with SLTA
Sri Lanka Tennis Association (SLTA), the governing body of Sri Lanka
tennis signed up with Dunlop as the official ball of the association for
a five-year period. This was announced during a press briefing at the
SLTA recently.

With this new agreement all activities organized and conducted by the
SLTA will be played with Dunlop Fort which is one of the world’s leading
tennis balls. The events scheduled to be played during the period would
include all International tournaments, Sri Lanka Nationals and the
Junior Nationals as well as all the coaching programs at the SLTA. With
this most of the ranking tennis tournaments in the country would also be
played with the Dunlop balls.
Dunlop Fort is the most preferred ball in Sri Lanka by most of the
elite players. The brand is endorsed by many International stars from
John McEnroe, Steffi Graf of the past to Nicolas Almagro, Fernando
Verdasco and Cibulkova of present are just to name a few.
Dunlop in Sri Lanka is represented by the leader in the sports
industry Ralhum Trading Co Pvt Ltd who has been in the forefront of
tennis in Sri Lanka having started its tennis operations nearly 10 years
ago. It has earlier helped players in the caliber of Dineshkanthan
Thangaraja who is the current National Champion, Shankari Thayakaran
(one of the leading women’s players) , Sri Lanan Davis Cup player
Nishangan Nadaraja.
In keeping with their objective to help outstation players, Ralhum
Trading has decided to reward Shehan Perera from Negombo for his
outstanding performances by offering him a Dunlop equipment sponsorship.
This sponsorship scheme will be enhanced to all outstation regions in
the country as well on a selective basis according to the individual
performances of the players in the ranking tournaments.
Speaking on this occasion Iqbal Bin Issack, the President of the SLTA
said “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Ralhum Trading
Company for coming forward to be the official ball of the SLTA. I would
also like to mention the fact that it is very commendable of the company
to offer sponsorships to young players from the outstations. SLTA
Secretary Ravi Perera and the Managing Director of the Ralhum Trading
Company M Mohamed also participated at the press conferance. |
