LOLC Micro Credit secures US $ 55.5 mn syndicated loan

Revolutionizing the Sri Lankan microfinance industry, LOLC Micro Credit Ltd, (LOMC) secured the largest syndicated loan of US $ 55.5 mn for the first time in Sri Lanka. This long term syndicated loan was facilitated by a reputed consortium of Development Financial Institutions (DFIs) from around the world.

Car carrier MV Delhi Highway makes maiden call at Colombo

K Line, the pioneer in the transport of automobiles further strengthened its confidence in Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) with the maiden call of its RO-RO vessel MV “Delhi Highway” on January 4, 2013. To mark the maiden call of the vessel MV “Delhi Highway,” at Port of Colombo, a plaque exchange ceremony was held on board the vessel between Dr. Priyath B Wickrama, Chairman SLPA and the Master of the vessel Capt. Peter C. Dzhiliyalov. Makoto Hashizume, CEO of the K Line Container Division in Singapore had paid a special visit to Sri Lanka to grace this occasion.

Ceylinco Life acquires Gower Street property

A stately colonial era mansion has been acquired by Ceylinco Life for a training centre for the company’s staff and sales force. Located at Gower Street, Colombo 5, the building is adjacent to the Ceylinco Life Tower, the company’s purpose-built head office since February 27, 2010.
