NCC officers told to make school cadets’ future brighter

All officers attached to the National Cadet Corps (NCC) have a great
responsibility to make the school cadets’ future brighter, NCC Director
Major General Gamini Jayasundara said.

They should dedicate themselves to make this effort a success and
encourage the country’s future generation to do their best to make
President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s wish to make Sri Lanka the Wonder of Asia,
he said.
Major General Jayasundara was addressing a commissioning ceremony at
the NCC Headquarters recently.
Two hundred and thirty one officers who trained under the NCC as
Junior Cadet Officers were commissioned as Second Lieutenants at the
ceremony.
“President Mahinda Rajapaksa and Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa
have made Sri Lanka free from terrorism. All Tamil and Muslim officers
commissioned today now have the opportunity to serve the country without
fear. This is the time to go forward,” Major General Jayasundara said.
‘The NCC grants a number of services to students under the guidance
of the Defence Secretary. Children in every part of the country are
working with a good understanding in the NCC,” he said. NCC Seva Vanitha
Unit Chairperson Priyanthi Jayasundara and NCC officers were also
present. |
