First Lady Shiranthi
Rajapaksa assisted a needy and helpless family with two
children living in Ampara by donating Rs 100,000. The gift
was handed over when the family, whose breadwinner is a
serious polio patient with lifeless limbs, were brought to
Temple Trees as requested by the First Lady on hearing of
their plight. The donation was made by the First Lady to
enable the father who is a congenital polio patient to
launch a self-employment venture to help uplift the family.
The First Lady who spoke to the family and inquired about
their details, also promised to look into their future
welfare and assist the children in their education. |
